During Science lessons, Year 8 students completed the second MIT Extreme Weather Challenge: Sea Sleuths designed by Dr. Caroline Ummenhofer who is a scientist and professor in the MIT-WHOI Joint Programme.

In this challenge students investigated the movement of water through the water cycle by conducting a focused research on cloud formation, precipitation and the path of rain water. Furthermore students researched on how the water cycle can lead to different kinds of weather events, including extreme ones such as droughts or floods.

Moreover, students presented their findings as a demonstration, a diorama and video which was creative and engaging. All students thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and were awarded with a CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION from MIT.
