Maths - a lesson that counts!

A Primary workshop on how maths is taught and how you can help at home

Presented by Mrs Nicki Allman, Phase Leader for Upper KS2 and Ms Leanne Harbord, Year 3 teacher.

We will be looking at the new national curriculum within the whole primary age from Year 1 -  6 in mathematics and how problem solving and using and applying fits in with how to enable children to understand number, shape, data and measure.

We will also look at the importance of talk and reasoning to help develop speaking and listening within mathematics.

We will show example exercises we would do in class and parents will have the opportunity to ‘be the students’ and see how maths would work in a lesson.

You will learn a lot and be more confident in helping your child with their maths at home.

There will be a Q&A session at the end of the workshop.
