I came to China in 2019 and just like many other travellers, was only expecting to stay in China for a year. I lived in Beijing for two years as a teacher and wanted to develop my career by completing my PGCEi at University of Nottingham. Prior to my adventures to China, I studied Arts and Festivals Management and Dance at De Montfort University, Leicester.
From this I went to teach and choreograph for Curve Young Dance Company which is a youth dance company which toured across the UK with other youth dance companies. I have also worked for the events and performing arts industry such as Pentabus Theatre Company, Cancer Research and Festival Republic which allowed me to work closely with artist at festivals such as Latitude. I then worked for a none profit company in the UK called National Citizen Service which is a social action programme allowing young people to develop their social action skills and as part of this role I was an Inclusions Officer focusing on children’s well-being and supporting those with learning and physical difficulties. I am excited to work at BSG due to the great staff and students that support the school.
