Principal
BA, PGCE
I began my teaching career in 1982 at a small village School in Norfolk. However, it was during my 6 years at Bangkok Patana School that I discovered my passion for international education. After 6 years as a Deputy Head in Wiltshire, I was ready for another international challenge, and in 2004, I helped to set up the British School of Beijing as the founding Deputy Head.

Vice Principal
MA, PGCE
There is no greater privilege than working with young people during their formative years. When opportunity and support is combined with motivation and time, it is a recipe for success that all learners, young and old, can follow. Throughout my career, I have been incredibly fortunate to work in schools where such an approach exists. Whether working in dynamic state and private schools in the UK, or overseas in Bahrain, Dubai, Thailand and, now, China, the day-to-day interactions with both students and colleagues is a never ending source of enjoyment and challenge.
Head of Primary
I have worked in Education for over 25 years; as a class teacher, Principal and School Director. I have gained a MA in Education and Leadership, and a PGCE from the University of Warwick. Since I am already working in Guangzhou, and my youngest son has been at BSG for two years, I was familiar with the excellence of the school, and am delighted to contribute to the school’s continued development.
Head of Secondary
Having graduated in 1995, I spent 15 year teaching Physical Education in the North East of England before taking the exciting step to move overseas and begin my international teaching experience with my wife Roslyn and our two daughters Ellis and Chloe. Our first move was the Regents International School in Thailand and during our 8 years at the school, Nord Anglia Education became the owners and we have both remained with the company since. We then moved to our sister school in Qatar before being offered the wonderful opportunity to come and join BSG in Guangzhou.
Director of Admissions & Marketing
MA, EdD
My international school career began in the classroom over 17 years ago. I studied computer science in university and after a few years working in the IT sector in my home country of Canada, I decided to sell everything I owned and try the challenge of living and working overseas. I spent the following winter volunteering in rural Uganda, before accepting a role teaching technology at a secondary school in Shenzhen. I fell in love with education, especially the multi-cultural and multi-lingual environments international schools benefit from, and decided to focus my career on being part of and supporting international education.
