University Degree: BA Sports and Coaching Studies
Sports and exercise has always been a huge part of my life. Alongside playing various sports growing up, I started coaching at the age of 15 whilst at school, then taught in New Zealand for my GAP year. I studied Sports and Coaching Studies at Oxford Brookes and worked in camps in USA in the summer holidays, before starting my teaching career in Berkhamsted, England, where I completed my PGCE in Physical Education at the University of Buckingham.
After 5 years gaining experience, I got my first taste of international teaching when I moved to Cairo, Egypt. After 3 happy years I moved back to London to a successful prep school in South West London. All these varied experiences have enabled me to enhance my teaching and understand different cultures. I have been able to learn lots of valuable skills and I can't wait to move to BSG to carry on developing my teaching practice.
Outside of school, I have always kept active and have been most recently playing hockey, cricket and American Football competitively in the three years I have been back in the UK. Recreationally I enjoy road cycling, golf and snowboarding and find any excuse to be active!
I shall be joining BSG with my partner Deanne, who will be working as a Toddler Teacher in Early years. We cannot wait to experience life in China, learn more of the language and travel around Asia.
