After completing my undergraduate degree in Sports and Exercise Science, I worked as a Learning Support Assistant supporting students with special educational needs. I then went on to complete my PGCE in physical education. I taught in Bishop Auckland before pursuing a career internationally. I have spent the last 3 years teaching in Kuwait and was fortunate lead the secondary PE department at NES for 2 of those years. During that time I have raised the profile of PE within the school and instilled a sporting culture amongst the students and staff. I am ready for a new challenge at BSG and cannot wait to get started and immerse myself within the community.
Outside of school sport continues to be my main interest. I love hockey, football and running. I have taken part in various marathons and half marathons, my greatest achievement being the London Marathon where I also raised over £2500 for Macmillan. At weekends you will find me supporting my beloved Newcastle United (someone has to). I am looking forward to Guangzhou Evergrande FC being my second team when living in China.
Since moving abroad it is safe to say have caught the travel bug. I love exploring new places and learning about different cultures. My favourite place so far is Peru. I cannot wait to travel around China and visit other parts of Asia.
