BA, PGCE
After teaching ESL for 4 years in Seoul, South Korea, I returned to Toronto and graduated from Brock University with my BA in Primary/Intermediate Education. From there I took additional professional development courses in Reading, ESL, Environmental Education and Special Education; which provided me with more tools and knowledge to use in the classroom. After my teacher training I moved to London, England where I taught as a Year 4 classroom teacher and within a special needs department for 2 years.
After those 2 years I sought to move abroad once again and landed in Istanbul, Turkey. Here I was mainly a Year 5 and 4 classroom teacher. Along the way, at all schools I have been at, I’ve been heavily involved in coaching sports and most recently running the KS2 student council. After living and working in Istanbul for 4 years I sought out to teach and live somewhere completely different which led to me moving to China. I am excited to be joining the British School of Guangzhou as it is a progressive, ambitious school where I can take the next step in my career.
I love being involved sports and fitness and taking up new challenges related to both. I played rugby and ice-hockey for a number of years and am always involved with sport in some way. I most recently ran my first half marathon with my eyes on completing a full marathon in the future! Outside of work you can usually find me enjoying the outdoors through hiking, cycling, climbing or trekking. On the other hand you could also find me reading away in a quiet park somewhere.
