After spending a year in the field of finance, I decided to do my PGCE at UCL IOE where I taught Business, Financial Studies and Economics in Woolwich Polytechnic London. Following the completion of my PGCE, I spent 2 years at the British School of Bahrain where I went onto become the lead teacher of Economics and BTEC coordinator for business studies. Furthermore, I managed the senior school football team and year 10 enterprise event with all proceeds raised for charity.
The BSG philosophy is one which resonates with my own: being “socially, personally and academically ambitious”. I’m really looking forward to bringing my energy, enthusiasm and my love for my subject to BSG. I hope to project all the positive aspects of my teaching to the students and the staff alike.
I’m an avid football fan; Arsenal being my favourite team. I played football at a semi-professional level and managed a few high school teams in my time as a teacher. Currently, I’ve been highly into fitness and nutrition so keeping fit and healthy has been a long-term goal of mine. Furthermore, I was part of a hip hop dance group in university, so I have a small background in break dancing.
Other than my social activities, I love to read about finance and investment to become more financially literate. I recommend everyone has a read of ‘rich dad poor dad’ by Robert Kiyosaki. It has changed my perspective on personal finance and I hope it helps you too.
