University Degree: BA Medical Science, PGCE
I studied at the University of Birmingham and worked in the pharmaceutical industry and for cancer research charities for a few years before becoming a teacher. As well as those big jobs I also did a winter season in the Italian mountains as a chalet host and a summer season as a yacht engineer fixing boats in the Greek islands. During the university holidays, I ran summer camps for teenagers. From 2004, I taught in schools in London and the surrounding area before deciding to seek adventure working abroad.
I met my wife and settled in China. When not at school, I like to spend time with my young family. In the holidays we try to spend some time visiting my wife’s tiny village in Hunan and enjoy the slower pace of life we experience there before returning to the bustling city that is Guangzhou.
