I came in to teaching 13 years ago after a period of career sole searching. Prior to this I was an assistant project engineer for Exxon, refitting oil tankers. I was also heavily involved with thermodynamics for Corus in the manufacture of steel. Coming from an engineering background my approach is to relate mathematics to real life situations so that my students can see practical applications to what they learn.
I am very passionate about my field and I feel that my greatest achievement is to pass on my love and enthusiasm of Mathematics to my students. I want to develop outstanding and independent thinking students so that they can reach their full potential and succeed in their chosen path in life. I feel that BSG with their desire to strive for excellence offers myself the chance to pass on my experience to the next generation.
I am a keen outdoors person and enjoy a range of activities including walking, swimming and rock climbing. I enjoy travelling and living in different countries, learning about different cultures and experiences. I am a wife and a mum of two children who are 6 and 7 years old. They are all as excited as I am and cannot wait to start their big adventure in a whole new part of the world.
