I have a degree in Environmental Art Design from Guangzhou University, and I worked as a designer for over 5 years. I then embarked upon a career change, working as Teaching Assistant and then Learning Support Assistant at an international school in Guangzhou. I then lived in Vancouver, Canada for 2 years, living and working with a family as a Chinese tutor for their Primary aged child.
Upon my return to Guangzhou, I resumed my Learning Support Assistant role for another 2 and half years before moving to the British School of Guangzhou. This is my second year here, and I really value and appreciate working under the guidance of John Serkiz, the Head of Learning Support and our Speech and Language Therapist.
The excellent training that I have received has enabled me to work with and support students in a targeted and personalised way. I run my own Social Skills groups and sessions focused on regulation and emotional control. I support my colleagues with handwriting, speech to text and comic book group sessions and take an active part in ASAs. My 1-1 support work includes supporting students on the Autistic spectrum. I am passionate about supporting students who struggle with their learning. That is why I came to BSG, it provides me a platform to fulfil my ambition. My mission is to help students to build their learning confidence to realise their potential.
Outside of work I like to keep healthy and active by doing CrossFit. I used to do Thai kick boxing and I would like it to do it again if I can find the time!
