Starfish, seahorses, turtles, and more! The Lower Campus Hall was full to bursting with sea creatures on April the 17th as Reception presented their stage production ‘A (Baby) Shark’s Tale’, to their proud parents. A beautiful backdrop which had been beautifully decorated with the children’s artwork ensured some fantastic photo opportunities, along with some soft toy sea creatures hiding in various places.
The production began with Baby Shark losing his teeth, and he didn’t know where to find them! Unfortunately, he had not been very kind to the seahorses, crabs, fish and starfish in the past, but luckily his friends Octo and Turtle stepped up to help him. Although the other sea creatures weren’t too happy to help to begin with, he convinced them that he was learning to be kind to others and they all made friends. When the terrifying jellyfish came by to attack the starfish, Baby Shark and his friends, Octo and Turtle, were brave enough to protect the other sea creatures. Finally, Baby Shark was reunited with his proud family.
The performance was full of beautiful singing, from The Beatles’ ‘Octopus’s Garden’ to Katy Perry’s ‘Roar’, and even live drumming from some super musicians for ‘We Will Sting You’ in the style of Queen! Included in the musical treats were an incredible solo of ‘1, 2, 3, 4, 5, Once I Caught A Fish Alive’ and a seahorses’ performance of the protest song, ‘Give Peace A Chance’. Every child proudly spoke their lines and the audience was on tenterhooks during the electrifying battle between Baby Shark and the jellyfish. Of course, the production had to conclude with a sing-a-long version of the very well known ‘Baby Shark’ - with which some parents could not resist taking part!
Parents and teachers were so proud of the children’s performance; they have grown in confidence so much throughout the year and this was evident throughout their show. It was a beautiful memory with which to finish Term Two and demonstrated that the children are already well prepared for life in Primary. Congratulations to the amazing children of Reception Krylatskoe - you were sensational superstars!
