Charity Fun Run in Aid of Melisa Erdem

Our Charity Fun Run is held in aid of ISM’s Melisa Erdem, who discovered last year that she needed to have major surgery and is in need of a new heart.

At ISM, we value the community that we play such a big part in and always look after our own. Shortly after hearing the news of Melisa’s problems we sat down and thought of ways to help. After a series of brainstorming sessions the Family Fun Run was set in motion. Since then, it has become an annual event in our school.

Each participating child is given a sponsorship form in order for family and friends to donate money for every lap that their child completes on the day. The child then has to have fun and run as many laps as possible dressed as their favourite superheroes. 

This year, rain threatened the Fun Run early on, but it was never going to ruin an event that we and our wonderful families were determined to see go ahead. EYFS were the first to set off in the morning with many an outstanding costume.

We had Ladybug, Captain America, Iron Man, Batman and other superheroes running around with huge smiles on their faces. The children impressed on the day, running with enthusiasm and determination to complete as many laps as possible. 

Later, Year One and Two joined us with many more impressive costumes and impressed us all with even more laps than ever before. As the temperature rose, so did the level of competition.

Year Three and Four graced the field with their presence after lunch. At the end of each part of the Fun Run the children sat down to relax and have a small picnic with family, friends and teachers, before heading back to class.

We would like to thank everyone who joined us at Krylatskaya Lower Campus to support our charity event in aid of Melisa Erdem. The support that you have shown for our charity events on Lower Campus has been nothing short of outstanding. It is an honour and a privilege to be part of such a supportive community that we love serving every day.
