Teamwork is a theme which springs to mind when we reflect upon our production. The magnificent children of Year One spurred each other on constantly throughout singing and acting rehearsals. By the end of rehearsals, most of the children knew not only their own lines, but their friends’ too!
Year One performed excellently in their production. This can only be attributed to their unwavering enthusiasm and, of course, the support of their wonderful parents at home. Many thanks to you, the parents, for all of your efforts in sourcing costumes, learning lines and listening to their favourite songs.
The Year One Team knew that this would be a tough production to organise, direct and prepare for. However, we know the children and believe in them. In true Nord Anglia Education spirit, we decided to ‘be ambitious’ and went for it. The script was adapted from the 1995 Disney / Pixar film, with plenty of chopping and changing to make it accessible for the young actors. The rest was all down to the hard work (and enjoyment) of the children.
That said, much of this would have been impossible without the excellent Music team. A huge thanks must be extended to the extremely talented and dedicated Ms Fountain and Ms Khalembakova. An excellent set of props were designed and created by the marvellous Mr Castro and Ms Likhareva. These props now hopefully have a home in our school for future generations to play with.
Year One students have made their teachers and parents extremely proud with their ‘Toy Story’ production.
And, as if by magic, ‘Toy Story 4’ has just come to cinemas to kickstart the summer holidays. What a coincidence! Maybe a few years down the line, these Year One children can relive the dream in another production of ‘Toy Story 4’!
