I have a Bachelor of Art Education and a Masters in Teacher Training for Secondary Schools in Visual Arts & Art Education, both from the Omsk State Pedagogical University, Russia.
From my earliest childhood years, I have always been fascinated by artistic processes. My love and passion for the arts resulted in my formal study which commenced when I was eleven years old following my acceptance into a specialist art school. Following my formal education, I worked extensively in industry including fashion and fashion publishing. My projects have been featured in Vogue as well as at the Moscow Fashion week. I have also created a clothing collection, under my own label, transferring splashes of watercolour into silk fabrics. Inspired by the clothing project, I published drawing and illustration tutorials in English and Chinese.
Learning always remained at the core of my work. Therefore, I continued my academic pursuits by completing a Master of Arts in Education with a specialism in Fine Arts. Additionally, I went on to develop my technique at Parsons College of Arts in Paris where I focused on experimental processes in contemporary art forms.
Originally from Siberia in Russia, I have lived in many different countries and fully embrace the principles of interculturalism and international mindedness. I lived in the heart of Europe, in the capital of Czech Republic for a decade, where I started to share my broad experience through teaching fashion, visual arts and design in international school. It is my third year in China and I am excited to live in its historical capital. I am honoured to join the British School of Beijing.
In my spare time I enjoy jogging, reading American and Russian classics and cooking. My specialty is pancakes. I love exploring China and its traditions with my three year old son Theo. As a parent I am thankful that my child is exposed to different cultures. As a teacher I believe in power of art as an essential tool for every child's self-expression and wellness, the development of empathy and multicultural consciousness.
