Building on a Strong Foundation

NAIS Manila has long been proud of its foundation in the English National Curriculum, known for its academic rigour and clear progression. It offers structure, consistency, and excellence in the core subjects of Reading, Writing, and Maths.

Now, our Primary school is building on this framework by introducing the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) in Years 1 to 6 for the sciences, humanities, Art and Design Technology. This enhancement will enrich each child’s learning journey, adding creativity, global context, and deeper engagement to every lesson.

Learning That Comes to Life

The IPC strengthens our core British Curriculum with thematic, inquiry-based units such as Active Planet and How Humans Work, so that children can explore big ideas - connecting subjects and inspiring curiosity.

Each unit begins with an Entry Point that captures their interest and ends with an Exit Point that celebrates, shares and reflects on what they have learned. It is learning that feels alive and stays with them long after the lesson ends.

What It Means for Every Learner

For our children, the introduction of the IPC means learning becomes more dynamic and connected. Lessons will link subjects in creative and engaging ways, helping children see how ideas fit together in the real world. With the IPC’s unique international element, they will also develop a stronger global and cultural perspective, learning to appreciate different viewpoints and communities.

Along the way, they will strengthen essential attributes such as collaboration, compassion and critical thinking, all while continuing to benefit from the academic rigour and high standards that define the British Curriculum. Each experience will carry deeper meaning, purpose, and joy in learning.

Learning with Purpose and Connection

The IPC reflects what we value most at NAIS Manila: curiosity, empathy, and a global outlook. It encourages students to explore who they are, appreciate the perspectives of others, and apply their learning beyond the classroom. Through the Nord Anglia Global Campus, our students also engage with peers from around the world, discovering how shared learning can inspire meaningful action and understanding. It also champions an exploration in learning how to learn; the IPC’s metacognitive elements encourage our children to find out more about themselves as a learner and boost their learning power.

This is more than a curriculum update. It is a bold step forward for our Primary school, our children, and the future they are preparing to lead. By blending academic excellence with global awareness, NAIS Manila equips learners not just to succeed, but to make a meaningful impact in the world. When learning is purposeful, connected, and global, our children do more than achieve. They grow, they lead, and they thrive.
