Learn how NAIS Manila is supporting student wellbeing through YouHQ and strengthening partnerships with parents in Secondary School.

YouHQ: Supporting Wellbeing Alongside Academic Success

At Nord Anglia International School Manila, wellbeing is a foundation for learning, particularly during the secondary years, when students are navigating academic pressure, social dynamics, and personal growth. This focus guided our recent parent session, Launching YouHQ: Insight Into Wellbeing.

Introducing YouHQ

YouHQ is a new wellbeing app that we will be launching in the Secondary School. It provides students with a structured way to reflect on their wellbeing, build self-awareness, and develop strategies to manage challenges. During the workshop, parents explored why wellbeing should be considered alongside academic outcomes, and how YouHQ will support students in their day-to-day school experience.

Working in Partnership with Parents

Wellbeing works best when school and home are aligned. This session gave parents insight into how we approach wellbeing at NAIS Manila, and how they can continue these  conversations at home. We see parents as key partners in supporting every student’s learning and wellbeing journey.

Why is it important to prioritise student wellbeing alongside academic outcomes in secondary school, and how will YouHQ support this at NAIS Manila?

"At NAIS Manila, I see YouHQ as a way of supporting this balance through a structured, proactive approach to wellbeing rather than waiting to respond when problems arise. It gives students a dedicated space to reflect on their emotions, habits, and challenges, helping them to develop greater self-awareness and emotional literacy. At the same time, it enables us to spot patterns or emerging concerns early, so we can offer timely and appropriate support before issues escalate." - shared by Wendy Spence, Head of Secondary.

The launch of YouHQ is part of our wider commitment to nurturing confident, balanced, and future-ready learners. When wellbeing is prioritised, students are better equipped to learn, grow, and thrive.
