Children were set the challenge to help improve and make the lives better of those people with illness. The children were excited to take on the challenge and used their problem solving skills to complete the task. The first part of the challenge saw the children work as a team to research natural medicines and looked at different plants to find out what the health benefits were. Children then designed their own label for their medicine and ensures they included all of the features.
Then came the fun part! The children use the different plants to create their own medicine. The choose their ingredients, crushed and mixed these to make their medicine. In the final part of the challenge, children presented their medicines and discussed with their peers the benefits of the plants they had used. This has been another successful MIT challenge for Year 1 and the children have shown enthusiasm and excitement for the project.
