Focus on Photography This Summer

July 23, 2014

This summer, British International School of Boston students are invited to join with other Nord Anglia Education schools for a summer student photography competition: Focus on Photography.

  • One of the winning photographs in the 2013 Focus on Photography competition.

Throughout the summer through Friday, September 26, students can submit their photos to BISB and we'll make sure they're included in the competition. Next school year, the photos submitted by BISB students and students from other Nord Anglia Education schools from around the world will be judged by their peers and a team of experts.\

Winning photos will be featured in the 2015 Nord Anglia Education calendar, distributed to schools, students and others around the world!

The competition is part of Nord Anglia Education's The Global Classroom initiative, which allows students from across the family of schools compete and learn together. It was The Global Classroom that sent BISB students to Tanzania in February to begin work on an ongoing community service intiatitive.

This year's photography competition theme is ADVENTURE. While students can interpret that theme in many different ways, they must be able to explain how their photograph fits the theme. All submissions must include a short description of the photograph, where it was taken and how it depicts "adventure."

Submit your photos to the British International School of Boston and you'll also have your work shared on our social media sites and submitted into a school competition!

Any photographs submitted to the school will be featured on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram, and all those submitted will be entered to win a great prize: your photograph on a T-shirt, mug, bag or other item of your choice.

This is a great opportunity for our students to continue their visual arts learning throughout the summer. We hope many students will get involved!

To submit a photo, email Danielle Curtis at To learn more about the competition and for a complete list of rules see the document below.
