All My Sons - A Smashing Hit!

24 January 2014

After months of preparation and hard work, our students put on an unforgettable performance of Arthur Miller's All My Sons this weekend.

"Being the year of our GCSEs, the production of All My Sons was obviously an added challenge to our day to day lives, yet after several weeks of rehearsals, and lines learnt to a 'frighteningly incomplete' standard, the play began to come together in the final weeks. This was partly due to the frantic, yet decisive, work of Ms Benson and Mr Kearns. Yet we, the actors, still needed to be in the correct "artistic environment" to deliver our lines in, and this was brought to life through the time-consuming work of Mr Allan who managed to create something akin to a Pinewood studio set on a shoe-string budget. So when we heard that our venue was sold out, we felt a lot of mixed feelings: nervousness, happiness, (a great deal of surprise) yet we were also thankful; thankful that our hard work was paying off and thankful that through their hard work, Ms Benson, Mr Allan and Mr Kearns had given us the opportunity to be part of such an interesting and insightful experience."

We would also like to thank everyone in the maintenance, ancillary, catering, admin and audio-visual department, as well as the Art department for making this school production such a great success.
