Following a whole year’s planning, members of the Class of 2007 returned to BISB on Friday, 12th June for a reunion – the first ever organised by any class from this school. Members of the group now live around the world: in the UK, the Czech Republic, South Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore and Angola, as well as here in Hungary.
Our alumni students are well remembered by the longer-serving teachers, including the kitchen staff who served them lunch! They were surprised at the growth of the school as well as by the modifications made to the building – the current dining room being in the old underground car park, for example!
Year 12 students were fascinated to hear each of the alumni recount their many experiences of university life and the world of work since leaving BISB, and had many questions relating to their own future plans.
Our alumni have followed interesting career paths including Jennifer – now importing wine to Hong Kong (also from Hungary’s Tokaj region); Halliki, who has just finished her PhD at Kings College Cambridge; Veronika, who is working as social media copywriter in Prague; Artemio, in HR in the oil industry in Angola; Ayman is working in sales and marketing for a construction company in Singapore; Eszter is employed locally for SAP as a sales executive having previously worked in Malaysia and California; Nadia is working in Overseas Development and left Budapest heading to Nigeria for a month; Adam is in Budapest working for Scitec Nutrition, and Zsófi, also in Budapest, is now a qualified child psychologist.
As well as visiting all the Budapest sites, the group spent a day in Tokaj. They are now planning their 10th anniversary reunion for 2017….
