BISB KS2 Swimming Gala 2016

On Tuesday, 22 March, the PE Department held the annual school Swimming Gala for the children in Key Stage 2. In the morning we had the Year 3 and Year 4 competitions. Year 5 and Year 6 children had their races after lunch. The events were aimed at every child and gave them the opportunity to celebrate success and individual progresses in swimming.

We had six events repeated through the course of the day: front crawl; backstroke; and breast stroke with and without a kickboard. Children could sign up for a maximum of three events, and we were all thrilled with the amount of enthusiasm the pupils had for their particular races. Introducing the freestyle relay (4x25m) this year for the first time proved to be highly popular among the students, and brought us an exciting finale at the end of each event.

We would like to thank the parents who came along to support their child, and what a noise rung around the swimming pool from the start to finish of the 2016 Swimming Gala. We would also like to thank the staff who worked hard to keep the Swimming Gala running like clockwork.
