The last two weeks has seen a plethora of enriching activities taking place in the Secondary school. Students in Year 12 participated in a very engaging MUN conference, our basketball teams have been in action and several guitarists put on a very enjoyable mini Rock Concert! This week, we have had a number of exciting science-related activities occurring in lessons and break times as part of Science Week, Year 12 students have completed the Group 4 project (which has a Science focus), Year 9-11 students who made it through have competed in the next round of the UKMT challenge and Year 9 students have held a Film Festival (the BOSCARS!) which celebrated the short films that they had created in a recent English project. Next week, we have some visits from university admissions tutors, several activities taking place in relation to Earth Day (on March 21st) and our KS3 sporting heroes head to Madrid in search of gold!
It is a very busy and crucial time of year for our Year 11 and Year 13 students, as they complete their final pieces of coursework, sit practical and oral assessments and step up the revision process in anticipation of the formal written examinations that will take place after the April holiday. All parents of Year 11 and Year 13 students should have received several exam-related documents via email this week that outline the examination timetable and the key rules and regulations, as well as providing some revision tips.
Have a great weekend,
by Scott Moore, (Acting) Head of Secondary
