They started off the morning with a pancake race to raise money for their Primary service charity, Csodalampa. The children had been given sponsorship forms in advance and been encouraged to find people who would sponsor them to fun as fast as they could, while flipping a pancake. This year, the Year 4 and 5 students are helping a boy called David, who has been diagnosed with cancer. Csodalampa would like to fulfillhis wish of visiting Barcelona and we would like to help him achieve this as he has spent a lot of time in hospital over the past months.
Teoman: "It was very hard to keep the pancake on the pan while flipping it and running."
Carlota: "The pancake was really heavy so it was hard to run and flip. I really enjoyed it!"
Rayne: "I thought the pancake race was fun but flipping the pancakes was hard while running."
At the end of the event, everyone was super excited to find out the results of the race. Blue team came 1st, green team came 2nd, red team came 3rd and yellow team came 4th.Afterwards the teachers had the chance to compete against each other and the competitiveness could be felt by all! It was a great way to start the day and linked in perfectly with our topic of shaping up and getting fit.
We are still collecting money for this event but we hope to let you know how much we raised as soon as possible.
