The IB Visual Arts exhibition was an enriching evening that enabled our Year 13 students to showcase their wonderful art. The variety of work on display was impressive and has inspired many of our students to explore new ways of communicating their ideas. The Year 12 IB students have certainly created some very thought-provoking work that has captured the inquiring minds of our younger artists.
It is always great to see such interest in why a piece of art is created in the way it is. Our budding young artists not only learn about the styles, processes and techniques used by artists but they also learn about the inspiration used by them, whether this is through personal elements within their life or taken from their surroundings. The IB Visual Arts exhibition at Kiscelli Museum was definitely an opportunity for our own artists to express the true meaning behind their work to their audience.
Year 7 have incorporated the style and techniques used by Paul Cezanne and Vincent Van Gogh into their own painted responses. They have produced a wonderful series of flowers and captured the shape, colour, tone and texture of the still life superbly. Fantastic work from our very young artists.
