The IB Diploma results remain extremely strong, with the average points score at over 33, significantly higher than the world average of 29.9. Nearly 14% of the Class of 2017 achieved Diplomas worth 40 points or more, compared with 8.6% last year, a significant and excellent improvement. The graduating students have been placed in top quality universities around the world, with 12.5% in the world’s top 50 universities.
IGCSE and GCSE results were outstanding, with 43% of grades being at the top levels of A and A*, compared with 30% last year. The best performing students gained straight A*s with several others gaining all A* and A grades. The overall number of students achieving 5 or more GCSEs at C or above rose from 78% last year to 85.4% this year, outstripping the UK national average of 20% by some distance.
