I have been thoroughly impressed by the high standard of work that our talented young artists have produced. The thought process and story behind each series of work are both imaginative and inspiring. I look forward to seeing the full collection of work exhibited in the IB Visual Arts and Music Show that is taking place in Kiscelli Museum on 6th March from 6.00pm. This will be a wonderful time to see all the work in a beautiful setting.
Year 10 students have been learning about a variety of artists who use cities as inspiration for their work. They have looked closely at their style, process and techniques and have begun to explore these within their own work. On Wednesday, students had a successful day taking photographs and recording ideas for their ‘Cities’ topic. The walking tour around Budapest provided our artists with ample opportunities to capture characteristics of the city that they found inspirational to them. A trip to the top of the Basilica and to the Buda Castle allowed students to take in the sights from a completely new vantage point, one that Stephen Wiltshire would love! Students ended the day with a visit to the National Art Gallery where they soaked up the work of Hungarian artists. All had a great day.
