Students were challenged in the range of repertoire choices selected this year but they rose to this challenge. There is a huge amount of research written about the benefits of studying the Performing Arts. Learning to act, sing or play a musical instrument can improve the development of speech and reading skills. It can also improve a student’s ability to sustain concentration for lengthy periods of time and have a profound impact on working memory. Watching our students collaborate and support each other across the age ranges at our Winter Concert really highlighted to me the power of the Performing Arts as a discipline and how it enables us to communicate and express ourselves as one. Our students involved in this concert have shown commitment and dedication and as a result, they have built relationships that have allowed them to share experiences and connect as a student body throughout the whole school. I am incredibly proud of all the students involved in this week’s Winter Concerts.
Videos of the event can be found HERE, HERE and HERE.
Wishing you all a rested and wonderful winter break.
