The week began with an assembly to introduce author Alan Durant. He performed his poem Spring Cleaning to clear away any lingering weekend cobwebs! His work in our classrooms has already produced many budding authors, writers and poets amongst the Primary children.
On Monday morning children in Year 4 Lilac were welcomed by a café-style book-tasting session, where a range of new genres were set out on delightful café tables. Our spelling bee competitors have been buzzing from round to round with the exciting final taking place at Friday lunchtime. The winners will be announced on Monday morning, 11th March, along with winners of the Photobomb a book competition and match the book from the shelfie to the selfie. Lunchtimes have been busy with a range of activities, including a paper folding workshop in the Library. Thursday saw the school awash with characters from our favourite books to mark World Book Day and Book Week drew to a close on Friday afternoon with Primary students changing into their pyjamas and snuggling down for a final book at bedtime amongst soft lights, cushions and more favourite stories.
