Our MIT team presented a special assembly to all Year 7 and 8 students on Tuesday morning, sharing their experiences at the Nord Anglia STEAM festival held at the beginning of the month in Boston USA.
STEAM stands for the interdisciplinary nature of learning at MIT where Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Mathematics are used together to solve problems. The only brief they were given was to be clear why they were giving the presentation. They decided it should be to inspire others to aim for excellence and to appreciate the journey will be a mixture of success and failure. Focusing on the extraordinary work of Dr. Ritu Raman and the special design day inspired by the MIT 2.009 course, the team achieved their aim and they can be proud that what they shared will inspire others to be ambitious about the possibilities of STEAM.
