Year 5 Sponsored Walk

We had our sponsored walk last Friday, 24th May. The BBM team (led by Helena, Katie, Makar and Leo) organised this event independently. We asked Year 5 to collect sponsors from family members for an hour’s walk to raise money for the Budapest Bike Maffia (a charity that helps the homeless in our city).

The sun was shining on us while we were at our starting positions on the football pitch. We were having fun and were raising money for Budapest Bike Maffia. We have collected approximately half million HUF already (money is still coming in at the time of writing this report so a final figure will be published next week).

The head of the charity, Zoltán Havasi, came to school on Monday, 27th May where we handed over the money raised so far. He was delighted with how much money was raised.

The money raised is going to develop projects for the Budapesti Módszertani Szociális Központ. Here is their website:
