On the 11th March, the Year 10 Hungarian group went on an educational trip with Mrs Piry and Mr Basa to Pannonhalma Benedict Monastery.
They were lucky with the weather because it was raining the whole day however not when they arrived at Pannonhalma.
The group took part on a guided tour, they got riddles which they worked on in groups of 3 and they explored the monastery. They were amazed by the library. “I liked the massive library with the 400,000 books in it,” (Bálint Perlaki). Here they could take a look at the foundation paper of the Benedict Monastery of Tihany from 1055, the first sentence of which is written in Hungarian with the rest in Latin.
It was an extremely useful and interesting excursion for the students who were astounded by the tranquillity and beauty of the Monastery.
