By the time you read this, English Themed Week will have come to an end. It was an exhilarating week, culminating in World Book Day and our fourth ever Boscars Awards Ceremony. The latter was officiated by the inimitable Mr Simon Bird, and we were honoured to have film-maker Viktoria Szeremedy award the prize for Best Film and speak passionately about the importance of following one's dreams. Congratulations to the students who made the award-winning films in the following categories:
- Best Sound: Live your Life to the Fullest
- Best Editing: Boo
- Best Film: Hurry
Congratulations also go to Anagha Sudin who won the hotly contested Spelling Bee. The atmosphere in the atrium was electric as she spelt out the winning word: nonchalant.
Other highlights of the week include the workshops led by public speaking expert, Mary Murphy, a wonderful slam poetry workshop led by Rachel Rhodes, our second ever Diorama competition, Speed Dating a book and our Mini Saga competition. Key Stage 3 students have also thoroughly enjoyed reading to Primary.
Many thanks for everybody who contributed to making this such a fantastic week. An especial thanks go to Miki Matrai and Gabor Pereszlenyi and his team who do so much behind the scenes to make this all happen.
