Quarantime (The Unexpected Adventures of 2020 in Pictures and Comics Featuring Cats, Startling Monster Attacks and Even a Little Bit of Reality) is exactly what the extremely long title implies. Drawing these comics was a way for everyone to rationalise their thoughts on this crazy year of global pandemics and political catastrophes. We have done it in a very lose form, so each comic you will see is vastly different from the last. Some use fiction and are total fantasy, some use reality and are autobiographical. Some are even a mix of both.
Amidst the cat stories, monsters, cans of tuna, boredom, airports and much more sits one common thread. Hope. Every story ends with a promise that something better is coming, that something new will rise from the chaos, be it new friendships, stronger bonds between humans or a more peaceful world.
Well done to all the KS3 pupils in creating this book. Your wacky ways and vast imagination have made a time capsule that is a perfect finish to an imperfect year.
