Parent Academy: Stress & Anxiety

Stress and anxiety is becoming an increasingly present challenge facing both adults and children alike. The outside world can be a very demanding place, and buying into those demands often triggers anxiety in us.

Bridget Curran, Head Student Support Services, College du Leman, will explore stress and anxiety from a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy perspective. She will guide you through the irrational beliefs that can trigger anxiety and how, if we can change how we think about something, we can ultimately change how we feel and behave. In this session she will touch on topics from phobias to social anxiety to performance anxiety. This session should also challenge us as parents and explore how our own thinking can have a direct impact on how our children think and see their world.
