Lucy Jones

Year 1 Caterpillar Teacher

BA (Hons) Drama, Loughborough University

PGCE Primary, Goldsmiths, University of London

Having specialised in Early Years education while undertaking her PGCE, Lucy began her teaching career in South London where she taught Reception for three years. Lucy took up her first international school post in Shanghai. During her time in Shanghai, Lucy taught Year 1 as well as being a Pre-prep housemistress.

Lucy joined BISB in 2018.

Lucy derives huge professional satisfaction from encouraging young children to be independent learners, which she believes is the key to their development and will empower them throughout their education. Children need to be challenged and encouraged to make connections in their understanding, in order for them to progress.

In her spare time Lucy enjoys visiting modern art galleries, reading Bret Easton Ellis novels and watching anime. She is also a keen singer and theatre enthusiast.
