The children in Year 3 have been really excited to start to rehearsing for their play. We’ve been using our play to link into our literacy work and think carefully about the different parts of speech! Watch out for the Pirates of Grammar Island!
After weeks and weeks of exciting build up - rehearsals, song practices, line-learning and Oscar-worthy acting - it was finally time for the Year 4s to perform their Time Lord Musical to their eager parents and friends!
The dance studio was transformed into a time portal, capable of time-travelling its inhabitants to lands far away, and into historical events and scenarios from days gone by. A group of children, some World War 2 evacuees, accompanied by a somewhat eccentric Time Lord, were sent on a mission to save the world from a team of human-eating dinosaurs intent on taking over the world!
Along the way, they met such historical figures as Florence Nightingale, Beethoven and even Boudicca and her band of Iceni warriors; all whilst singing and dancing along the way for their audience’s viewing pleasure!
The Year 4 children were AMAZING! The hard work and determination they put into learning their lines truly paid off, and the performances were a huge success. Congratulations to all the children who took part, and thank you to their parents and friends who helped them to learn their lines, songs and provide costumes and props.
