Lower School Students

New North Broward Lower School Families:

Welcome to the Lower School of North Broward Prep!  It is my pleasure to welcome you to the supportive community of collaborative thinkers and learners that is the lower school. At North Broward Prep the faculty, staff and administration work in partnership with parents and students to foster the intellectual, social/emotional and civic development of each child in our care. North Broward Prep is a place your family can call home, a place where your child will thrive and grow.

This is such an exciting time for your family!  The start of a new school year is always filled with anticipation and eagerness. I’m sure you may feel a little nervous as you begin this new phase of your child’s education, but you will soon feel like you’ve always been part of our caring and nurturing school community. One of North Broward Prep’s greatest assets is its ability to embrace new families and build new relationships. You will first experience this when your child receives a personal phone call from his or her new homeroom teacher welcoming your child to the class. These calls will be made on Monday August 20.  An NBPS Family Ambassador will also contact you over the summer to assist with any parent or family questions you might have prior to the start of school.

Here are some resources you may need as you prepare for the start of the year:

Summer Reading and Math Information:  Grade level specific reading assignments, as well as library summer reading logs can be found here: NBPS Lower School Summer Reading
Information for grade level math practice can be found here:  NBPS Lower School Math Practice.

Lower School Student Dismissal Authorization Form: required one per family. Please complete using this link: LS Dismissal Form.

NBP School Uniforms: School Uniforms may be purchased by ordering online at www.dennisuniform.com or by visiting their store at 7602 NW 6th Ave, Boca Raton, FL 33487. Phone: (561) 226-9803

School Supplies: All school supplies are provided by NBPS. No need for school supply shopping!

The NBP Year At a Glance (YAAG) and additional start of the year information will be mailed to your home address by mid-August. In this mailing you will find any additional information you may need to begin the year.

You will also receive an electronic invitation to attend our PSTA New Parent Welcome Breakfast beginning at 8:30 am in the High School Student Union on Thursday August 23rd. This gathering will give you the opportunity to socialize with other new parents and to meet our PSTA board.

Lower School student orientation will be held on Friday August 24th. We will welcome new families in the lower school cafeteria at 9:00 am and proceed to classroom visits at 9:30 am.  Orientation will conclude with a lower school social beginning at 10:00 am, hosted by our wonderful PSTA. The first day of school is Monday August 27th.

Mrs. Sarah Evans, our Assistant Principal, and I will also host a new family coffee on Wed. August 29th at 8:15 am in the lower school cafeteria to see how your first two days have gone and to address any questions or concerns you may have at that time.

I am thrilled to welcome you to the lower school and to our North Broward Preparatory School family. Please feel free to contact me via phone or email if I can assist you with any questions or concerns. I look forward to working with you and your family.

Sincerely,

Kathleen Malanowski
