Celebrating 10 Years of Collaboration with The Juilliard School

This year marks the 10th anniversary of our collaboration with The Juilliard School. Over the past decade, this partnership has provided invaluable resources, opportunities, and experiences that have empowered students to explore the arts, no matter their level or passion.

Our collaboration centers on a K–12 curriculum inspired by Juilliard’s renowned college‑level program. Through it, our teachers and faculty gain access to Creative Classroom, a platform offering lesson plans and resources built around high‑quality works of art, including contributions from celebrated choreographers, composers, and artistic movements. These materials enrich curriculum planning and elevate teaching across the performing arts.

As part of this partnership, North Broward Prep embraces the Juilliard Approach to Classroom Instruction, grounded in five key values that guide artistic learning.

Success for all: Every student has artistic capacities that can and should be developed beyond what they ever thought possible.

Active and exploratory learning: Students learn best through hands‑on exploration and the application of artistic skills and concepts.

Igniting creativity: Meaningful artistic experiences help students discover their own creative voice and strengthen imagination across all subjects.

Inquiry and reflection: Curiosity and reflection deepen understanding and support the development of strong metacognitive skills.

Meaningful encounters: With high‑quality works of dance, drama, and music.

Each school is paired with a curriculum specialist who works closely with performing arts teachers. Their support includes both virtual and in‑person visits, during which they observe classes, lead workshops, and collaborate with staff. Community engagement activities are also offered, such as parent‑student workshops where families learn and create together. Specialists may even work with advanced dancers to help develop entire pieces, giving students unique opportunities to learn directly from Juilliard experts.

This collaboration not only connects our students with Juilliard specialists but also provides meaningful opportunities for our entire community.

“Opening up their creativity, becoming reflective thinkers, and placing them in the role of artists through their interactions with high‑quality, meaningful works of art.” — Tiffany Lutz, Juilliard Nord Anglia Performing Arts Regional Lead, The Americas

Our faculty at NBPS benefit greatly from professional development through this partnership. They participate in regional and global performing arts conferences, where new team members learn how to implement the program in their classrooms, while long‑term faculty continue to grow through ongoing opportunities. In addition, guest artists, many of whom are Juilliard alumni, visit throughout the year to lead master classes, offering experiences distinct from those provided by curriculum specialists.

Students are further enriched through opportunities to attend Juilliard summer performing arts programs and fine arts festivals. These experiences connect NBPS students with peers who share their passion, expanding their global network and deepening their engagement with the arts.

“The Juilliard Nord Anglia Performing Arts Program is not just enriching our daughter’s schooling. It is enriching her life. Through extraordinary teachers and thoughtfully designed programming, she is inspired daily to learn, grow, and express herself in new ways. This commitment to cultivating creativity and curiosity through the arts helps her see the world with greater empathy, while opening her eyes and heart to meaningful connections. It is shaping her into a more thoughtful, creative, and well‑rounded learner.” — Ashley Rudnick, Sixth Grade Parent

“As a Juilliard alumnus, the greatest lesson I learned is that the arts are accessible to everyone. Through exploratory education and creative approaches to music, art, theatre, and dance, we can broaden students’ artistic development and deepen their appreciation for the arts. My time at Juilliard affirmed that it is not only our duty as artists to perform and preserve artistic works, but also to educate future generations. This is why I am so excited to bring what I learned as a student into the classroom at NBPS through the Juilliard Creative Classroom. While our Lower School has an impressive violin program, my ultimate goal is to inspire a lifelong love and appreciation for all the arts in every student.” — Reenat Pinchas, Lower School Strings Teacher

“It is more than just a curriculum. It is an approach to arts education that challenges students beyond technical abilities, driving their creative and critical thinking while preparing them for the careers of tomorrow. Who knows what the job landscape will look like in 10 years. This program ensures students are not only honing technical skills but are also exposed to broader experiences that will shape their future.” — Liz Korkosz, Director of Fine Arts

We are deeply grateful for this extraordinary resource through Nord Anglia. Ten years. One vision. Endless creativity.
