North Broward Speech and Debate continues its winning streak in Dallas, TX! We are proud to announce that after a strong showing at the Ohio Valley Season Opener and the Greenhill Tournament, the initial rankings name Nicholas Mancini and Giorgio Rabbini as the #2 Policy Debate team in the nation as juniors!
The team of Nicholas Mancini (11th grade) and Giorgio Rabbini (11th grade) were invited to the Greenhill Round Robin, competing against the top 16 teams in the country, receiving 8th and 6th speaker respectively.
The debating duo then participated at the Greenhill Tournament, where they were 1st seed, reached the quarterfinals, and received their second bid to fully qualify them to the Tournament of Champions! George was 3rd speaker, and Nick had the distinct honor of receiving the Colin Rule Trophy for being 1st place speaker in a field of 232 of the top competitors in the nation. Mancini-Rabbini is breaking records for NBPS and are dominating their competition on a national scale.
One week prior they competed at the National Speech and Debate Season Opener in Lexington, Kentucky, where they conquered stiff competition and received their first bid to the 2018 TOC. After 3 days of debate, the junior team of Nicholas Mancini and Giorgio Rabbini won 1st place at the first national tournament of the year without losing a single ballot in the process, which is an incredible accomplishment. Additionally, George was 1st speaker and Nick was 9th Speaker. We are excited for Mancini-Rabbini's early season success and are proud of them for setting a great example.
