Early September in South Florida means hurricane preparedness. Our Residence Life staff are no strangers to the kind of expert planning and preparation that a hurricane evacuation requires. We’ve also learned that relocating out of the path of potential storm damage can present some awesome opportunities for our boarding students to explore a new area of the United States.
This year, our evacuation plan brought us to Atlanta, Georgia. While there our students were able to see the famous Centennial Park and the downtown area (shopping!), The Georgia Aquarium, and to visit some of the leading Colleges and Universities in the United States. The highlights for our students included visiting Georgia Tech and the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), Atlanta campus. With several NBPS graduates already attending, and college admission staff providing a personal welcome, it was a fun reunion and incredibly informative.
