The North Broward Debate Team did extraordinarily well at The Tradition at Cypress Bay Tournament. This is the first national competition where the team has won in two divisions of debate (a milestone for the program).
Seniors Tyler Katz and Drew Peterson were 1st place in varsity public forum, receiving their 4th bid to the TOC. Drew was the 5th place speaker out of 136 students.
Freshman Dev Gopal and Junior Jay Gopal were 1st place in varsity policy, receiving their 1st bid to the TOC. Dev was the 5th place speaker out of 32 students.
Senior Daniel Ardity and Junior Sebastian Rabbini were 3rd place in varsity policy, receiving their 2nd bid and fully qualifying to the TOC. Daniel was the 1st place speaker out of 32 students.
Juniors Cassandra Ameen and Tyler Brown were octafinalists in varsity public forum, receiving their 2nd silver bid. Sophomores Karina Samuel and Lea Toledano were double octafinalists in varsity public forum, their first appearance in elimination rounds.
Senior Grant Cooper was 18th speaker out of 136 students in varsity public forum.
Junior Tyler Brown and Senior Tyler Katz were also invited to compete in Public Forum at the International Tradition Round Robin and awarded finalists. Junior Cassandra Ameen was also invited to compete in Congress for the Round Robin.
