Cultural Intelligence (CQ) and Inclusion Committee celebrates National Hispanic Heritage Month

13 September 2020

The Cultural Intelligence (CQ) and Intelligence Committee celebrates National Hispanic Heritage Month. It's a month filled with celebrations and holidays!

National Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated from September 15th to October 15th. During this time, the histories and cultures of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, Central, and South America are celebrated.

September 15th is significant because several Latin American countries including Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua celebrate their independence on this day. Additionally, Mexico and Chile celebrate their independence days on September 16th and September 18th.

“At a time when racial conflict and racial insensitivity permeate everything from politics to playgroups, engaging our kids constructively on race is crucially important. It's also easier said than done.” - EmbraceRace with MomsRising
