Swimming | Annual Time Trials

This was an opportunity for the BSG swimmers to compete against themselves in order to get the fastest possible time in 8 events, 25m and 50m in all four strokes - Freestyle, Butterfly, Breaststroke and Backstroke.

  • BSG Swimming trials

Over 40 swimmers took part from Year 3 upwards and set some personal bests and very competitive times.  What was more impressive is that all the swimmers swam so fast that they beat the rain that kicked in during the afternoon.

Of the students that took part 28 achieved the Super 8 award which is a medal that will be awarded in assembly for students that took part in all 8 events.  A list of names is below.  What was most pleasing for the PE Department was that the discussion on the sidelines that was taking place.  Students were getting tired and opting out of races to recover where as others were adamant that they wanted the Super 8 medal.  This really epitomises the core values of commitment and integrity that the schools encourages from all students.

Medals will be awarded to students (male and female) that came 1st, 2nd or 3rd in Year 3/4, Year 5/6, Year 7/8 and Year 9+, in assembly over the next week.  All times can be found on the BSG website but the winners can be seen below.

We look forward to more progress and competitions over the course of this term starting with the house swimming gala, then to the BSG Invitational and then the PRC Swimming in Shenzhen in December.  Then next year possible meets in Bangkok and Shanghai could follow.

Well done to all involved and thank you for all parents who attended and supported.
