Erika Mills

Assistant Head & Reception Teacher

Following my successful degree in Primary Teaching BA Hons with Qualified Teacher Status and French, I began my teaching career in Liverpool, in the U.K. I taught Year One for two years and I was the subject leader for art and French. After that, I taught Year Three  in Knutsford, Cheshire in the U.K. and led whole school music and art.

Then I moved to Macclesfield and began working as an intervention teacher for Year Two children. An opportunity came to move to the Early Years and it was there that  I discovered my passion for teaching this age range. During my time in Early Years, I have led the department and successfully raised attainment and  developed our outdoor environment by gaining funding from the U.K. National Lottery. I have also led whole school art, design technology, singing assemblies and school choir.

When I received the offer to lead the Pre-Nursery department at BSG, I was delighted to accept. I am an extremely creative and passionate teacher and the children are the focus in everything I do; their happiness, love of learning and progress.

I love to sing and I have sung competitively with a gold medallist barbershop choir in the U.K. and a bronze medallist barbershop quartet. Aside from singing, I enjoy going on adventures with my daughter and husband, and capturing the world through photography or painting.
