Reception Teacher

I am a recently qualified teacher, having graduated from Stranmillis University College Belfast with first class honours in 2017. Upon graduation I was eager to enter the world of work and begin the career I had dreamt about - teaching! My first teaching position was here in Guangzhou, in a foreign school affiliated with South China Normal University. I worked here for one academic year 2017-2018, as a grade 5 homeroom teacher and the foreign English teacher for grade 3 and kindergarten.

Having been made aware of the position available at the BSG I jumped at the chance to join this prestigious school. Following my interview I was offered the position of Nursery School teacher and I am delighted to be joining the BSG family. I very much look forward to the coming year and to finally meet my little class, the Nursery Bumblebees.

I am particularly adventurous by nature and have been fortunate enough to have had an abundance of travel opportunities. I travel not only for pleasure but also to write, to volunteer, to study and most recently for work. This was something that was acknowledged in university when I was given the 2017 award for International Participation. I also have a keen interest in reading, journaling and badminton

In terms of personal aspirations, I am currently very much focused on my early career. I am thrilled to begin working in an such quality setting and seek to further enrich my skill set and my pedagogical knowledge. I hope to travel as much as possible while based here in Guangzhou, exploring China and other parts of Asia.
