Gemma Campbell

Toddler teacher at BSG

Pre-Nursery Teacher

Upon completion of my BSc in Psychology at The University of Liverpool, I have spent the majority of my professional life in the vicinity of education. Firstly, I undertook an Au Pair post in Switzerland. Being responsible for 3 young children, helping them progress through play, song and dance allowed me to gain confidence and sparked my interest in working with young individuals

Following my role as an Au Pair, I moved to China and began working at The British School of Guangzhou as a Teaching Assistant. I had the pleasure of working with some highly-skilled teachers gaining further invaluable teaching experience along the way.

For the last 3 years, I have been the school’s Events Manager that enabled me to learn the details that go into the running of a successful international school. Events, like teaching, require the continuous process of planning, executing and evaluating in order to attain the desired outcome. With my recent appointment to the post of Toddler teacher, I am excited to begin a journey that will be full of challenges. I am delighted at the prospect of supporting a child’s first steps into education as they begin to cultivate an understanding and true love of learning.

I enjoy the simple things in life e.g. curling up on my sofa with a cup of Yorkshire tea and a good book, wandering around unexplored streets taking in the new sights and smells, creating new dishes and recipes in the kitchen, hiking in Hong Kong, learning Cantonese/Mandarin and spending time with my family.
