Staff Profiles: Iwona Jezierska-Krasa

Pre-Nursery teacher at BSG

Pre-Nursery Leader

I began my teaching career at a Primary school in Poland where I taught English as an Additional Language for a couple of years. Following that I moved with my family to Banbury, UK, where I worked as a teacher within Foundation Stage.

In 2000 I received a Teaching Diploma and in 2003 I was awarded a Master’s Degree from the same university. Four years later whilst living and working in the UK, I topped up my qualifications with Qualified Teacher Status issued by the General Teaching Council for England.

After that I moved to Romania where I worked in one of the international schools in Bucharest as both a Nursery and Reception teacher.

When in 2011 I was offered my first teaching position in China, I didn’t hesitate to accept it. Seven years later I am still here. This is my fifth year at the British School of Guangzhou, which has become my second home.

My aim as a teacher is to make learning fun and exciting for the children and help them discover their full potential as learners.

Outside of school I very much enjoy family life, especially relaxing weekends with my husband and daughter, experimenting with cooking, sightseeing and chilling out with a good movie.
