I gained a BA Honours Degree in Hispanic Studies from the University of Nottingham and afterwards gained a Post Graduate teaching qualification from the University of Liverpool. Over the past 15 years, I have taught Modern Foreign Languages in both Primary and Secondary schools in the United Kingdom, Malaysia, the Cayman Islands and now here in China.
I have taught Spanish to a wide age range, from Year 3 through to Year 13, and was Head of Spanish and Head of House in previous schools before becoming Head of Faculty here at the British School of Guangzhou. I was keen to come to live and work in China as I hope to learn to speak a new language and travel around this diverse country.
I am married to Yvonne who is the Head of the Science Faculty here at the British School of Guangzhou. My two main interests are sport and travel. I have been to many countries in Europe, Asia and the Americas and I enjoy visiting new locations, sampling the local cuisine and seeing the main places of interest. I like to play golf and swim but my greatest passion is football; I still play regularly and I am a keen follower of Liverpool FC.
