After finishing my undergraduate degree I worked at a specialist sports college as a qualified swimming coach and within the PE department for two years. I returned to University to complete my PGCE in Physical Education in 2012. Since then I have taught in a Secondary School in Yorkshire and most recently in Hanoi, Vietnam. I loved working in Hanoi and enjoyed delivering many varied aspects of PE and sport. Moving to teach Internationally has enabled me to teach sports such as swimming and rock climbing, both areas which I have a keen interest in, and I am excited to be able to continue teaching at BSG. In addition to the taught curriculum, I thoroughly enjoy coaching sports’ teams and running extra-curricular clubs, providing opportunities for students to develop and excel in a sport or activity they are passionate about.
Outside of school I like to be active. My main passion is football and I played for York City Ladies Football Club for 5 years before moving to Vietnam. Rock climbing, cycling, swimming and running are also great interests. In recent years, I have taken part in many sporting events including Ironman 70.3 competitions and trail runs, with my biggest and proudest achievement being first female finisher in the Vietnam Jungle Marathon. Away from sport I like to spend time socialising and experiencing new cultures and I am very excited about moving to Guangzhou.
